Frequently Asked Questions – Nuthatch Naturals
What is a nuthatch?
A nuthatch (nut-hatch) is a small woodland bird that you can see cling to trees upside down while it searches for insects, nuts, and seeds to eat. Nuthatches are found all over the world! They’re called nuthatches because they stick nuts into small openings in trees and then peck at them with their strong bills.
What safety testing do you do on your products?
We have tested the product for skin irritation and allergenicity in a clinical test with 50 human volunteers with a range of skin types (known as a human repeat insult patch test). There were no adverse reactions of any kind during the course of the study.
We also routinely test product batches for microbial growth and physical stability. We have never had any product fail those tests.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Our product bottles are made of PET plastic which is recyclable. We considered using glass bottles, but we were concerned about the potential for breakage. The pump is reusable, not recyclable.
Should I stop using my barrier cream (Aquaphor, Eucerin, Vaseline, etc.)?
Our product is not a barrier cream. Such creams are used for severe dry skin and eczema on the advice of a physician. Nuthatch Naturals Daily Soothing Lotion is meant for moisturizing minor dry skin.
What is your return policy?

Is your product vegan?
All our ingredients are plant-derived and therefore vegan.
Is your product non-comedogenic?
Our product is meant for children, who only infrequently suffer from acne. It contains only gentle natural ingredients. Therefore, we have not yet tested for comedogenicity.
Is your product gluten free?
Nuthatch Naturals does not add gluten to its products. However, it is possible that very small amounts of gluten may exist in the ingredients. We have not yet pursued the gluten-free certification offered by the GFCO. Please consult with your healthcare provider.
My child experienced skin irritation, what should I do?
In the very unlikely event of skin irritation due to this product, please stop using it immediately and consult your physician. Let us know when this occurs so that we can refund your purchase and examine the product batch records.
